THE WORST DRINK IN AMERICA!

Men's Health Magazine has spoken and named the worst drink in America. Oh it certainly doesn't taste bad -- it's just utterly horrible for you. Toping the list of the 20 unhealthiest drinks available in the U.S. is one of Cold Stone Creamery's new ice cream shakes. The ice cream company's peanut butter and chocolate milk shake packs the equivalent of 68 strips of bacon in saturated fat and an astounding 2,010 calories! On the plus side, a 16-ounce PB and C shake delivers 60 per cent of a person's daily requirement of Vitamin A, 80 per cent of the daily dose of calcium, 15 per cent of the iron and 8 per cent of the fiber. But the saturated fat content is nearly three times what anyone should eat in a day. But, substituting "Sinless Sweet Cream" for ice cream in any make-it-yourself dessert will cut 57 per cent of the calories and all of the fat, said spokeswoman Jami Thompson. Likewise, ladling blueberries rather than Reese's Peanut Butter cups into the ice cream will eliminate 180 calories.

SUNBATHER HIT BY CAR

Tomorrow is the start of Memorial Day weekend. If you're planning to hit the beach, I hope you have better luck than 43-year-old Marshall Starkman of Oceanside, New York (--on Long Island, just a few miles east of New York City).

On Wednesday, Marshall was sunbathing on Long Beach in Long Island. He was lying facedown on a beach chair and listening to his iPod, when a cop named Paul DeMarco accidentally RAN HIM OVER with his SUV.

Apparently, Officer DeMarco was driving across the beach while responding to a call for a water rescue. At some point, he took a hard right turn and drove directly over Marshall, leaving tire marks across his back.

At first, Officer DeMarco didn't even realize what he'd done. But he put the pieces together after people started screaming at him to stop.

Marshall was rushed to the hospital with a fractured spine and a broken rib. As of last night, he was in stable condition and recovering.

Marshall's wife, Allison, says, quote, "I just can't believe what happened. He was sitting on the beach minding his own business. It's very unfortunate, but thank God he's alive."

For the record, Officer DeMarco won't be charged with anything, and he's already back on the job.
