Halloween Fact Or Bull-Crap

Time now for the Halloween edition of FACT OR BULL-CRAP. We give you a statement, you tell us whether it's a FACT, or whether it's BULL-CRAP. Here we go:

#1.) The budget for "Paranormal Activity 2" was 200 times more than the budget for the first one.

FACT: The sequel 'only' cost $3 million to make, which is pretty cheap for a major release. But the original was made for a ridiculous $15,000.

#2.) Marilyn Manson hates Halloween, because it's the night he lost his virginity: He was only 13 . . . and it wasn't a pleasant experience.

BULL-CRAP: We totally made that up.

#3.) The song "Thriller" was almost called "Midnight Man". They changed the name because they thought it had more marketing potential.

BULL-CRAP: They considered "Midnight Man" as a name for the ALBUM. The song was almost called "Starlight".

#4.) The 'rap' that Vincent Price reads in "Thriller" was written in a cab on the way to the studio.

FACT: Rod Temperton wrote it while Price was on his way in to record it.

#5.) Vincent Price recorded the "Thriller" rap in one take.

BULL-CRAP: It took that unprofessional hack two takes.

#6.) The name Dexter is the opposite of the word "sinister".

FACT: It is Latin for "on the right side." Sinister means "on the left."

#7.) Children are six times more likely to be hit by a car on Halloween than on any other night.

BULL-CRAP: It's 'only' about twice as likely.

#8.) Only about half of Americans hand out candy for Halloween.

BULL-CRAP: It's about three in four.

#9.) The word "witch" means "wise woman."

FACT: It's from a word in Old English meaning "sorceress." (--The word was 'wicce,' but we're not sure how to pronounce it.)

#10.) Jack O'Lanterns aren't named after a person. They come from an old Celtic phrase meaning "headless."

BULL-CRAP: It comes from an Irish folk tale where a man named Jack gets himself banned from both heaven and hell. Instead, he wandered the earth carrying a homemade lantern.

20-year-old Francisco Joaquim from the African country of Angola has the "Guinness" world record for the WORLD'S WIDEST MOUTH. He can stretch his mouth 6.69 inches, and fit an entire soda can inside sideways.

His mouth is so big that he was able to pop a can of soda in and out 14 times in one minute.
