Hawkins County officers respond to domestic fight call at home of missing child Summer Wells

A report issued Monday by the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office gave details of a domestic assault call made to the home of Don and Candus Wells, the parents of missing 5-year-old Summer Wells.

The review said the couple had been drinking during the night of Jan. 19 when officers arrived just after midnight. Candus told the officer that Don had grabbed her by the throat and shoved her against the wall.

Don Wells denied the charge and investigators found no visible signs of injury on Candus who was checked out by EMS workers. The couple was advised of private prosecution and orders of protection.
