Motorists In Atkins Community To Expect Travel Delays As Smyth County Road Project Begins

Motorists traveling in the area of Interstate 81 near mile marker 52 in Smyth County, Virginia can expect delays as a bridge repair project begins Wednesday. VDOT says work to replace the I81 bridges in the Atkins area of Smyth County is expected to cause daytime lane closures and motorists will use eleven foot travel lanes along with traffic shifts through the work zone. A speed limit of 60 is being enforced.
