Tennessee Governor Lee announces 37 percent salary increase for state correctional officers

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee says a salary increase is happening for state correctional officers. Effective December 16th, 2021, Tennessee Department of Correction correctional officers will see a competitive 37 percent salary increase.

Governor Lee says, “As we face staffing shortages across the country, rewarding officers with competitive pay will ensure we recruit and retain the most highly qualified individuals in our workforce.” This 37 percent salary increase raises annual starting pay for Tennessee correctional officers to $44,500.
