End Of Watch…Officer’s Body Returned To Big Stone Gap Following Autopsy

The body of a 29 year old southwest Virginia Police Officer Michael Chandler who was killed on duty Saturday , after being gunned down on his birthday this past weekend was brought home Monday to Big Stone Gap Virginia. The escort led by Law Enforcement authorities from around the region and Wise County Sheriff’s Deputy Natashia Smith Chandler, the wife of slain deputy. Officer Chandler was shot and killed while responding to a welfare check at a home in the 25 hundred block of Orr Street in Big Stone Gap. Thirty three year old Michael White, of Cross South Carolina is suspected of shooting Chandler and is being held by the Wise County Sheriff’s Department. Charges are pending.
