New website launched to provide Tennessee businesses, school to request exemption from COVID law

The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has launched a webpage that will allow businesses, governmental entities, or schools to seek an exemption from a comprehensive COVID-19 bill signed into law by Governor Lee.

The new law prohibits most Tennessee businesses from imposing a vaccine mandate unless they receive an exemption from the Comptroller’s Office.

The report said exemptions may be granted if the applicant can show compliance will result in a loss of federal funding. The new rule states exemptions are not permanent.
