State Police: Appalachia structure fire ‘suspicious in nature’

More details have been released surrounding a fatal fire in Wise County, Virginia that State Police investigators are now calling a potential arson case.

The remains of Michael D. Woodward, 65, were found after flames were extinguished at a home located in the 300 block of Callahan Avenue Friday morning in Appalachia just before 5:30.

VSP is asking anyone with information on this fatal structure fire to contact local police or state authorities.
