Sullivan County Commissioners Struggling With How To Spend Thirty Million Dollars

Here’s some good news, Sullivan County is about to receive thirty million dollars in America Rescue Plan funds to help the county recover from the economic affects of the COVID Pandemic. The bad news, Sullivan County Commissioners can’t agree on how to spend the money. Thursday night, commissioners haggled over the formation of a seven member committee to make recommendations to the full commission on how they should spend the thirty million dollars. Commissioners deferred action on the formation of the committee. Several surrounding counties are also tacking the issue in advance of the arrival of the funds which should come in 2022.
