Effort To Approve Land For Potential Meat Packing Facility Comes To Grinding Halt

A resolution that would have opened the door to the area’s first meat processing facility came to a grinding halt Monday night in Jonesborough. Washington County Tennessee Commissioners pulled a rezoning request for property owned by John Abe and Vickie B. Teague that would have allowed for the areas first meat processing facility to locate at the property on Blalock Road in Teleford. However, the petitioners themselves asked commissioners to pull the plug on the request.
