Virginia lawmakers praise court ruling that frees more than 400 dogs from puppy farm

U.S. Senator Mark Warner and Tim Kaine of Virginia have released a statement after 446 beagles were freed from a breeding facility located in the state.

The lawmakers said they have been pressing federal agriculture officials to investigate and take action against Envigo located in Cumberland for violation of animal welfare laws.

The motion filed in U.S. District Court also includes an injunction that prohibits Envigo from breeding, selling, or any other activity involving their dogs for 14 days and to adhere to animal welfare laws.
