Child abuse suspect fighting extradition in North Carolina

A second suspect in a child abuse case in Russell County, Virginia is reportedly fighting extradition and remains in a North Carolina jail.

Officials with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirm Michael Park, 43, remains in custody in Winston Salem while court officials said his next court date is scheduled for Apr. 20.

Park and Rebecca Bremner are both charged in the investigation after deputies found a child on their Castlewood property living in an outside box trailer. Authorities said exposure to the elements resulted in the child’s amputation surgery.
