Alpha Announces 70 Million Dollar Tax Refund

Bristol, Tennessee’s Alpha Metallurgical Resources, a leading supplier of metallurgical products for the steel industry is receiving a 70 million dollar tax refund and related interest payment resulting from a net operating loss in 2021. Earlier this year, the company reported more than an 18 million dollar operating loss and said it expected the refund before the end of the year. Alpha remains optimistic about its ability to build cash and reduce its debt and says the tax refund increases Alpha’s total liquidity.
