Board approves an agreement to assist Appalachian School of Law
The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement that would provide $3.4 million to assist the Appalachian School of Law. It was approved in a 5-2 vote, Thursday night. Under the agreement, the funds would go to the Buchanan County Industrial Development Authority for grants to provide financial assistance to the law school. The law school will have to provide the county with a financial plan and documents by March 2 to receive the first disbursement of $1.7 million. The school will also be required to show how the grant funds will be used to help its situation. The agreement must also be approved by the IDA.
