BREAKING: Portions of I-26 and I-81 closed due to weather

Stretches of interstates in Northeast Tennessee are now closed Tuesday due to winter weather related accidents. The closures are affecting portions of I-26 and I-81. Eastbound and Westbound lanes of I-26 are closed due to the crashes between Stone Drive and Rock Springs Road. TDOT estimates the crashes to be cleared by 1 p.m. TDOT also reported a multi-vehicle crash on I-81 in the northbound lanes around in Greene County. The crash took place near the Jearoldstown Road overpass Closing northbound lanes and another crash on I-81 occurred in the southbound lanes in the Fall Branch area of Washington County. That crash has closed southbound lanes. Conditions are also reported to be difficult on Routes 11 and 19, and all secondary roadways are reporting some snow and ice cover.
