Carter County Man Receives Six Years In Prison Following Breakin

A man who was accused of breaking into a Roan Mountain home and exchanging gunfire with the homeowner is sentenced to six years in prison by a Carter County Judge. Reggie Allen Putman entered an Alford Plea to a reduced charge of attempted second degree murder, especially aggravated burglary and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony. Putman broke into the home on Cove Creek Road last year and was caught by the homeowner. Both men received life threatening injuries as a result of the exchange of gunfire.
