CCSO arrest man for possessing child sexual abuse material

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Elizabethton man thursday after he confessed to possessing child sexual abuse material. Deputies arrested 22-year-old Michael Logan Schultz and charged him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. The investigation began when the Carter County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding activity on a social media platform. Investigators then obtained a search warrant for the address linked to the cyber tips. Investigators made contact with Schultz and during the interview Schultz admitted to downloading and possessing child sex abuse material. Schultz was arrested and taken to the Carter County Detention Center where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
