Domestic assault arrest made after short pursuit

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 36 year old William Ramsey of Jonesborough, and charged him with multiple infractions including Aggravated Domestic Assault, Felony Evading Arrest, Driving on a Suspended License. Sheriff Keith Sexton says Deputies responded to call on C.D. Williams Road shortly after noon on Feb. 18. The victim told police that Ramsey had choked and slapped her and kicked out a window at the home during the altercation. When Deputies arrived, Ramsey had fled the scene. A short pursuit led to his arrest on Lovegrove Lane. Deputies discovered a loaded rifle in the back seat of the vehicle and an outstanding warrant for aggravated domestic assault in Carty County. Ramsey was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 20.
