Eastman to test vapor release alert system at Kingsport site Dec. 13

Eastman Chemical Company says a test of its in-plant alert system happens on Tuesday, and people in the area may see or hear alarms. Officials say testing the hazardous vapor alert system is necessary to ensure it’s working properly.

The test will consist of both alarm sounds as well as a blue light alert. Testing takes place Tuesday between 8 AM and 3 PM at the Eastman site.
