Eclipse warrants day off for Sullivan County students

Sullivan County, Tennessee Public Schools will not be in session on April 8 due to the solar eclipse.

In a recorded message to parents, Director of Schools Chuck Carter said one reason for the day off was to insure the safety of students and staff. He also said it was an opportunity for parents and children to observe the event.

Spring break for the system starts Monday.
