Elderly SWVA Man’s Body Discovered As Firefighters Battle Washington County House Fire

An autopsy is being performed on a body discovered Sunday morning in Washington County Virginia as fire firefighters battled a house fire. The victim, 86 year old James Eugene Jones, is suspected to be the resident of the home, located on White Oak Road in Washington County. Firefighters from Green Spring Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Washington County Fire and Rescue were containing the blaze when Jones’ body was discovered. Foul play is not suspected but VSP continue the investigation.
