ETSU makes Forbes list for best mid-sized employer

Forbes Magazine just listed East Tennessee State University as among the top midsize employers in the country. The university ranked No. 71 out of 500 midsize employers nationwide. Those rankings were mostly based on survey responses from employees working at companies with 1,000 to 5,000 workers. Respondents were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate their employer on things like salary, work environment, benefits, and opportunities to advance. Two other Tennessee midsize employers also made the top 100. Vanderbilt University ranked No. 13 and Maury Regional Medical Center at No. 15. ETSU was the only midsize employer in East Tennessee on the list.
