Eyewitnesses told police assault victim accelerated toward victim after parking space dispute

A verbal dispute over a Walmart parking space led up to a driver striking the person with their vehicle, according to Johnson City police.

Terri Mangrum, 64, of Greeneville was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated child abuse following the incident at the store on Browns Mill Road.

The statement said the man’s 5-year-old child was able to jump out of the way when eyewitnesses said Mangrum turned and accelerated towards the victim.
