Fire officials report 2 deceased after house fire in Greene County

Two people died in a house fire on Cedar Crest Rd in Greene County on Monday. First responders were called to the fire at a residence on Cedar Crest Rd at around 11:20PM and were told there could still be people inside the residence. Firefighters made entry into the home and discovered two persons deceased inside. The bodies have been sent to the William L Jenkins Forensic Center at ETSU for autopsy and formal identification. The Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Fire Investigation Units along with the Fire Investigation Division from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene and an investigation is now underway.
