Getaway skills unsuccessful as deputies book two speeders in Jonesborough
Two drivers on Washington County, Tennessee highways thought this was the weekend to test their getaway skills.
Deputies did catch up to Steven Kotsonis, 35, of Johnson City who police said increased his speed when lights were activated. He was clocked at 116 miles per hour on Highway 11-E before pulling over near Grandview School. That added up to one count of evading arrest.
Officers also didn’t have a problem arresting Christopher Cox, 34. Eyewitnesses told police that Cox was at full throttle on his motorcycle when he thought he could take a curve onto Highway 107. His cycle flipped several times and he was deposited onto the roadway. Cox refused a trip to the hospital but he got one to jail where he was issued nine charges including expired tags, no drivers license or insurance, and reckless endangerment.
