Johnson City couple arrested for attempted murder after stabbing at Browns Mill Road motel

A Johnson City couple faces attempted first-degree murder charges following several incidents at the Bravo Inn off Browns Mill Road.

The city police report said Bobby Payne, 42, and, Maria D’Amato, 35, attacked the guest in one room, leaving him with a stab wound to the head.

Investigators said Payne entered another room, then held the occupants at knifepoint while talking to police behind the door. Payne is also charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and resisting arrest.
