Lee approves deployment of Tennessee National Guard members to US border duty in Texas

Governor Bill Lee has authorized the mobilization of 50 Tennessee National Guard members to assist Texas authorities in the war on drugs early next year.

Lee pointed to data from the US Customs and Border Patrol who has seized more than 200K pounds of Fentanyl and meth this year.

More than 300 Tennessee soldiers were sent to Texas during the summer to combat illegal crossings.
