Meadowview man arrested after assaulting Glade Spring officer

Police have made an arrest after a man assaulted an officer in Glade Spring. 29-year-old Jessee Barrett of Meadowview has been charged with multiple offenses including assault and batter of law enforcement. Glade Spring authorities made contact with Barrett after at suspicious activity call. When police made contact with Barrett he got in his car and drove off. Once the vehicle stopped, Barrett assaulted an officer as well as threatened another with a knife. He was eventually taken into custody without having to use force.
