Memorial fund established to help SW Virginia family after death of 5-year-old

An investigation continues into the drowning death of a Pulaski County elementary school student earlier this week.

5-year-old Auston Wingo was pulled from the swimming pool of the YMCA location on Oakhurst Avenue on Monday. He was pronounced dead later that evening.

A preliminary report said a member of Auston’s immediate family was at that center for child care. A memorial fund has been established to help Auston’s family with expenses.
