Mosheim Police: One arrested after standoff

A man was arrested Tuesday after a reported standoff. According to the Mosheim Police Department, officers were called to the 7100 block of Blue Springs Parkway shortly after 4:30 p.m. regarding reports of a burglary and theft of firearms. An investigation found that 38 year old Chad Eric Hefner had broken in and taken several firearms. A witness told officers Hefner had been drinking and using narcotics, claiming he “was going to kill people”. Police made multiple attempts to negotiate but were unsuccessful. Gunshots from inside the home were heard. Hefner exited the home several hours later after police used “less than lethal tactics.” He was taken into custody, and charges are pending.
