New laws for TN in 2026
A new set of laws will go into effect in Tennessee on the first day of 2026. One new law will significantly change regulations for hemp-derived cannabinoid products, effectively banning the sale of products with high levels of THCA beginning in 2026. The new law also transfers regulatory authority from the Department of Agriculture to the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Two new laws will give parents more control over their children’s online activity by tightening restrictions on social media accounts and access to adult content. “Savanna’s Law” will create a registry of persistent domestic violence offenders. SB 1798 will require bartenders to complete training about how to identify and prevent sexual assault. Another ew law will require landlords to tell potential tenants the name and address of property management agencies that operate rental homes.
