New TN law will place GPS monitor on domestic violence offenders

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a bill that would require a court to order domestic violence offenders to wear a GPS device in the state. The Bill would require the offender to wear the GPS device unless they no longer pose a threat to the alleged victim or public safety. The bill was signed by the governor on Tuesday. The legislation would also provide the domestic assault victim with a device that would let them know if the offender was within a prescribed proximity of the victim’s cellular device or an electronic receptor.
