New Year, new Sheriff takes office in Buchanan County

Allen Boyd has taken over as Buchanan County Sheriff after being elected in November. Sheriff Boyd spent 21 years working for Virginia State Police. His first 10 years as a trooper were spent in Buchanan County. Boyd says he hopes to get in front of the drug issue continuing to impact residents, saying drugs are most likely connected to a majority of crimes in Buchanan County.
