One person killed after crash on Wyndale Road in Abingdon

The Abingdon, Virginia Police Department says that one person was killed after a crash on Wyndale Road Friday evening. The department said that at approximately 4:52 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Wyndale Road involving a Pontiac G6 traveling westbound and a Ford Escape traveling eastbound. According to the department, both drivers were transported to the hospital, where one driver reportedly died from their injuries. The police department and the Virginia State Police are investigating and no names have been released.
