Police officer and first responders injured in hit and run. Charges pending.
One Bristol, Tennessee police officer and two firefighters were struck by a vehicle on Highway 394, near Food City, Thursday evening. It happened around 6:30 p.m. while officers and firefighters were on the scene of a crash. All three were taken to local hospitals, the extent of their injuries hasn’t been released yet. According to officials, the driver left the scene and was located later at a residence. Two others were hospitalized from a secondary crash occurring when the three first responders were struck, an EMS worker and the driver who was in the initial accident. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, charges are pending for the driver who struck the first responders.
