Portion of Newport Highway in Greene County back open following big rig crash

A section of Newport Highway in Greene County, Tennessee was closed for several hours following a tractor-trailer crash Monday morning.

A report published by Greeneville – Greene County EMS said the rig was hauling a load of beans when it overturned in the 7000 block of the roadway.

First responders were able to get one lane of the road open just before 3 p.m. Other cleanup and utility work was scheduled to take place.
