Positive Rate For COVID, About To Exceed Region’s Vaccination Rate

Ballad Health is reporting 450 patients receiving treatments Tuesday for COVID19 at its hospital facilities within the 21 county service area in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The positive rate of COVID cases sits at just under 45 percent of the population in southwest Virginia. Ironically, just under 48 percent of Virginian’s are fully vaccinated. Eight pediatric patients are being treated at Nicewonger Children’s Hospital. Meanwhile, 73 deaths have been reported during the past seven days.
