Public input for potential projects on four SW Virginia routes being accepted

Four study areas have been selected for potential road improvements in Southwest Virginia.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will accept public feedback online on the four prospective locations including:

– Route 23 area of Weber City in Scott County
– Safety issues between Coal Yard Rd and North Fork River Rd in Washington County
– Three intersections of Euclid Avenue in Bristol that include Bob Morrison Blvd, Commonwealth Ave, and Vance St
– A portion of Route 58 in Lee Co between Sugar Run Rd & Eagle Ridge Dr

Comments to help in the study can be made at VAProjectPipeline.org through Feb. 14.

“This study is being conducted as part of a new program, Project Pipeline, created by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB),” according to a statement released by VDOT’s Bristol District office on Monday.

“Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs including Smart Scale, revenue sharing, interstate funding, and others.”
