Report: Payoffs for state, company owners are big as Bristol Casino marks first year of gaming

More than 1 million people have visited the Bristol Casino: Future Home of Hard Rock since its opening one year ago.

The first operating casino in Virginia commemorated the milestone with a night of special prizes and giveaways, but the Commonweatlh has come away as the big winner with the business.

Statistics provided by Hard Rock International show $25.9 million in taxes have been supplied to the state in one year. In that time, $92 million in jackpots have been rewarded, processed more than 14,000 job applications, and promoted 84 staff members.
