Russell County scrapes landfill proposal

The Russell County Board of Supervisors have voted to not move forward with a highly contested Moss 3 landfill proposal. Russell County residents had previously raised concerns about the potential landfill in Cleveland, Virginia. The board unanimously voted Monday to terminate the agreement. Dozens of community members had gathered for the meeting.
