Russell County Supervisors table public hearing for proposed landfill

Russell County Board of Supervisors chairman Steve Breeding asked for the public hearing concerning the proposed Moss III landfill project to be tabled due to the host agreement between the county and the developer has not being finalized yet. This was passed unanimously. Breeding said with it being postponed, it gives the board time to finalize the host agreement and then call for a public hearing. Residents, instead, voiced their opposition during the public comment portion of the meeting. A public hearing for the community to comment on the host agreement will need to be scheduled. The board plans to meet again on Monday, June 10th at 7 p.m. at the Russell County Government Center in Lebanon, Virginia.
