Scott county standoff ends with victim taken to hospital

Scott County, Virginia authorities ended an hours-long standoff Monday evening on East Carters Valley Road. The suspect, Stephan Honeycutt of Erwin, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The standoff began around 4 am Monday when he broke into a victim’s home. A woman later left the home uninjured around 10 a.m. Honeycutt was taken into custody following the standoff. He had active warrants for his arrest on two felonies and over 20 misdemeanors.
