SCSO says local ICE operation located 29 people

A Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says a local operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents resulted in 29 people being located. The ICE operation began on Wednesday and “was focused on removing illegal immigrants that had been identified prior to the operation as potentially having ties to dangerous criminal gangs and those with criminal charges and extensive criminal histories.” Of the 29 people located, four had been previously deported.
