Second pediatric influenza death reported in Tennessee

According to state health records, a second Tennessee child has died from the flu this season. The Tennessee Department of Health’s weekly influenza report shows a pediatric death was recorded during the week between Dec. 31 and Jan. 6. There have been two pediatric influenza-related deaths reported in Tennessee this flu season, with the first being reported the week before Christmas. Young children are one of the groups at higher risk of contracting the flu.
