Sullivan County BOE approves pay increase for teachers/staff again

The Sullivan County Board of Education unanimously approved a budget with a 15 percent pay raise for teachers and support staff, the second time the board has voted on a raise and sent it to the county commission. The first vote was in June with county commissioners failing to approve the resolution. The budget approved by the school board Wednesday keeps administrators on a regular teacher salary scale. The county commission meets Friday at 10 a.m. If the county commission fails to accept the budget, then the school system will have to use last year’s budget.
