TBI reports officer-involved shooting in Bluff City

A state investigation is underway after an armed Bluff City, Tennessee man was killed after Sullivan County officers were called.

A preliminary report from the TBI said William Kevin Guinn, 54, was armed with a gun when deputies arrived just after 9 p.m. Wednesday for a welfare check in the 400 block of Pine Hill Road.

The statement said investigators are now learning information on what led up to Guinn’s shooting by a county officer. Those findings will then be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office.
