TDA to shift HDC regulation to TABC on January 1

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has clarified an upcoming shift in regulation over hemp-derived cannabinoids in Tennessee. Regulation over HDC will transfer from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission on January 1, 2026. The TDA says that to make this transition as smooth as possible they have entered into an agreement that will ensure all current HDC licenses issued by the TDA will remain valid until they expire on June 30, 2026.
