Temperature records broken in the Tri Cities
Temperature records have been broken in the Tri Cities. A record low of -7 was set at Tri-Cities Airport on Monday morning. This shattered the old record of 0 and was the first time it has been below 0 in Northeast Tennessee since February 2015. A record low was also recorded Sunday, as the temperature dropped to -1 just before midnight. Below normal temperatures will continue for most of the week with highs near freezing Monday and closer to the mid 40’s on Tuesday. Wednesday will see a return to high temperatures in the 30’s.
