Tennessee flu cases on the rise
The latest data available from the Department of Health shows outpatient visits for the flu are the second highest in the state in Sullivan County at nearly 10 percent.
Tennessee Health Commissioner John Dunn is urging residents to get a flu shot as the US begins to descend into the two months out of the year when flu cases are rampant. The Centers for Disease Control reported flu cases have doubled during the latter part of December.
Current season trends for Influenza-Like Illness are almost the same as last year in Tennessee–that was when flu cases in Sullivan hit their peak at nearly 12 percent.
