Vandalism charge filed after church van damage in Jonesborough
Thousands of dollars of damage was caused when a suspected vandal punctured the gas tank of a van owned by Harmony Baptist Church of Jonesborough.
A county report said John William Rogers, 30, was named a suspect when nearby video cameras captured footage of him in that area. Rogers is charged with one count of felony vandalism.
The clean-up of the contents of the drained gas tank cost the church around $2,000 according to the Sheriff’s Office.
